Information we collect
When you contact us, we may collect your name, work contact details, company, area of interest and the information you include in your message. If you use the DVAR Project Navigator, we also process the project answers you provide and the initial assessment generated from them. Our hosting and security systems may record technical information such as your IP address, browser type, requested pages and the time of a request.
How we use information
We use enquiry information to respond, understand a potential project and manage any resulting business relationship. We use Project Navigator answers, with your consent, to create an AI-assisted initial assessment and identify relevant DVAR services. We use limited technical information to operate, protect and diagnose the website. We process this information with consent, where it is necessary for our legitimate business interests, to take steps at your request before entering a contract, or to meet a legal obligation.
DVAR Intelligent System
The DVAR Intelligent System provides optional Project Navigator assessments and service-question guidance. When you agree to automated processing, the project answers or question you enter are sent securely to approved third-party AI processing services through business APIs. Contact details entered after an assessment are not included in the generation request. These services act as technology suppliers to DVAR.
Do not enter passwords, confidential design files, export-controlled information, special-category personal information or information you are not authorised to share. The assessment is an initial guide and is not a quotation, safety approval, compliance opinion or formal engineering recommendation.
Our current AI processing provider states that business-API submissions are not used to train its models by default. Content may still be retained under applicable processing, abuse-monitoring and security controls. Processing may take place outside the United Kingdom with contractual and organisational safeguards. The Project Navigator does not make decisions that have legal or similarly significant effects. Its internal prioritisation does not accept or reject work. Every brief submitted to DVAR is reviewed by a person.
ReflexLoop product questions
The DVAR Intelligent System also provides optional public product guidance about ReflexLoop, separate from any customer-selected private project deployment. With your consent, your question and DVAR’s public product description are sent to an approved third-party AI processing service for moderation and answer generation. A pseudonymous abuse-prevention identifier, derived from a salted representation of the visitor’s network address, accompanies the generation request. It is not an anonymity guarantee.
This assistant does not control a test rig or access customer project records. Do not enter confidential designs, source code, patient data, credentials or controlled information. The ReflexLoop endpoint does not save question or answer content in WordPress or browser storage. The text is displayed in the current page and can be removed with Clear question. Hosting and security systems may retain ordinary access or security metadata, and short-lived salted network identifiers and counters help prevent abuse.
Retrievable response storage is disabled for this feature. This does not eliminate all provider retention: applicable processing, abuse-monitoring and other data controls still apply. You can cancel an in-progress request or clear the visible question and answer; this does not withdraw a request already received by the processing service. Enclosure Builder
The Enclosure Builder reads STEP and STL files locally in your browser. Source CAD files are not uploaded by the tool. Recognised projects, their derived display geometry and enclosure settings are saved in browser site storage (IndexedDB), not in an online DVAR project account. Clearing this site’s data removes these saved projects. Clearing cached images and files alone may not remove site storage. Private browsing, browser eviction, storage limits or a different device/browser can also make projects unavailable. There is no online project backup.
Automatic PCB recognition is optional until you choose to inspect an uploaded model. With your agreement, three rendered views, limited component labels and geometric dimensions are sent to the DVAR Intelligent System’s approved third-party AI processing service. These views may reveal design information even though the CAD file itself stays local. Do not submit confidential, controlled or third-party designs without the necessary authority.
The Enclosure Builder endpoint does not save inspection images, model summaries or results as website files or project records. API response storage is disabled, but provider processing, retention and security-monitoring rules may still apply; zero retention is not promised. A pseudonymous salted network identifier and short-lived request counters help limit abuse, and ordinary hosting/security metadata may be retained. You can delete individual local projects using Delete project. Downloads contain the enclosure STL files and notes, not an online backup of your editable project. Recognition and generated geometry are prototype aids, not engineering or manufacturing approval.
Who receives information
We do not sell personal information. We may share information with service providers that support our website, email, AI-assisted assessment, security or professional operations, and with professional advisers or public authorities where required. We require service providers to protect personal information and use it only for the agreed purpose.
Retention
Project Navigator answers are not saved as enquiry records unless you choose to submit the resulting brief. Submitted briefs and direct enquiries are saved in a private website inbox and may be sent to our enquiry email address for review. Website enquiry records are removed after 24 months; records needed for active work, contracts, legal or accounting requirements may be held separately for the applicable period.
Cookies and similar technology
This website uses essential technology needed for security, administration and enquiry operation. If you enable the Navigator’s save-draft option, project answers and the assessment are kept in your browser tab’s session storage for up to two hours, or until you clear them or successfully submit. Contact details are not included in that saved draft. The option is off by default.
We count limited Navigator activity, such as starting a brief, completing a question or receiving an assessment, to understand whether the enquiry process works. These daily aggregate counts contain no project text, contact details, cookies or visitor identifiers and are removed after 90 days. Short-lived hashed network identifiers are used separately to prevent abuse. We do not use advertising cookies or third-party advertising analytics.
Your rights
Depending on the circumstances, you may ask for access to your personal information, correction, deletion, restriction, portability or an objection to processing. Where processing relies on consent, you may withdraw that consent. You may also complain to the UK Information Commissioner’s Office.
